Dr. James Stinson has joined both the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research and the Faculty of Education, York University, as the Postdoctoral Fellow in Planetary Health & Education. The joint appointment signals both institution’s commitment to transdisciplinary ways of working which focus on real-world impact.
Dr. Stinson’s PhD dissertation examined the case of Indigenous co-management of the Sarstoon Temash National Park in the Toledo District of southern Belize. He continues to work with Maya leaders, exploring ways to support them as they build a vision for their future based in Indigenous conceptions of the health and wellbeing of people and planet.
