Sarah Merghani is currently pursuing an Honours BSc in Global Health at York University, specializing in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, with an interdisciplinary certificate in Refugee and Migration Studies. Driven by a deep commitment to health equity and humanitarian work, Sarah seeks to integrate scientific research with practical solutions to address pressing global health challenges.
As a Global Health Intern at the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research, Sarah works with the Wellness Impact Lab (WIL), guided by Dr. Harvey Skinner and Susan Harris. Her role involves contributing to innovative projects like the Climate Cafés, which provide a supportive space for discussing emotional responses to the climate crisis and fostering community well-being and resilience. She helps promote and facilitate these events for students and community members, supports the evaluation process, and assists with manuscript preparation for publication. Sarah is dedicated to advancing integrated health practices and promoting collective action in response to climate change and mental health challenges.
With a career goal of supporting vulnerable populations, including displaced people, women, and children, Sarah aims to leverage her research and community engagement to create meaningful and tangible impact in disease prevention and climate adaptation.
