Faculty ensures access to teacher education for college tech grads The Faculty has signed agreements with seven Ontario colleges to enable college graduates trained in technology-related fields to earn teaching degrees at York. Read more
Report suggests race-related data collection could enhance student success A report commissioned by the Ministry of Education co-authored by professor Carl James, says student demographic data should be leveraged to enhance student success through equity measures, a new report out of York University suggests. Deborah Britzman appointed York Research Chair in Pedagogy and Psycho-Social Transformations Distinguished Research Professor Dr. Deborah Britzman was appointed Tier I York Research Chair in Pedagogy and Psycho-Social Transformation effective this past July. Read more
Education researchers awarded over $220,000 in SSHRC Insight Grants Professors Jen Gilbert and Gillian Parekh were awarded Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) grants totalling approximately $250,000. Read more
Faculty launches new Master of Leadership and Community Engagement program     The Faculty officially launched its new Master of Leadership and Community Engagement (MLCE) professional degree program earlier this past May. Read more
Charles Hopkins speaks at UNESCO’s 25th anniversary celebration    UNESCO/UNITWIN Chair Charles Hopkins had the distinct honour of speaking during the UNESCO 25th anniversary celebration in Paris, France on Oct. 31. Read more
