Faculty of Education Associate Professor John Ippolito says “parents shouldn’t be very worried ⁠— a short break from the classroom due to COVID-19 won’t cause any major disruptions to a child’s academic progression.”

“In an ideal world, you want kids to have the opportunity to develop in a coherent and uninterrupted way, but the developmental continuum is a theoretical construct,” he said.

According to Ippolito, parents shouldn’t be very worried ⁠— a short break from the classroom due to COVID-19 won’t cause any major disruptions to a child’s academic progression.
