High school teachers can work in public and private schools teaching students from grades 9-12. The process to become a high school teacher requires one to have two teachable, the first teachable to consist of 36 credits and the second subject being 18 credits. There are two streams that one can choose to go into, the Concurrent Education program or the Consecutive Education program. The Concurrent program is intertwined within the undergraduate degree and the Consecutive is after the four years of the undergraduate degree. As a result, the Educational Studies degree does not provide a license to teaching, it is crucial to complete two years of teacher’s college. Their day-to-day tasks differ depending on their subject specialty; however, the main components include organizing lesson plans, delivering subject material, and administering assessments. High school teachers also motivate students and inspire good values to aid in student success. As a professional teacher should not be afraid that they ought to know every single question and have an answer to it, it is okay for teachers to not know as learning is an ongoing process. In addition, having excellent verbal and communication skills are ideal in an educator when communicating with students, parents, and guardians.
