The Faculty of Education provides an environment where students are encouraged to challenge the status quo to uncover new possibilities in the advancement of education. Professor Sue Winton appointed York Research Chair in Policy Analysis for Democracy
Winton’s YRC research program will collaborate with multiple public sector organizations to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on education privatization in Canada.
Professor Carl James honoured with a Distinguished Research Professorship
James was honored at the Faculty’s spring 2024 convocation ceremony for his exceptional research and impact within and beyond the University.

NEW Certificate in Undergraduate Educational Studies
Students in the Bachelor of Arts Educational Studies program can now earn an Undergraduate Certificate in Educational Development to enhance their preparation and career options in the field.
Faculty of Education responding to need for careers in skilled trades
The Faculty’s Professional Learning Office launched new Technological Education Additional Qualification (AQ) courses, combining classroom learning with on-site experience to help address the shortage of qualified high school teachers.

The Faculty and Division of Advancement at York University officially launched the York University Education Alumni Network (YUEAN).
Connecting YU
Education alumni are invited to join Connecting YU, a new mentorship platform that connects current undergraduate students with graduates from York University’s Faculty of Education.
