The Jean Augustine Chair in Education, Community & Diaspora presents a panel discussion on Miss Lou (a.k.a. Lousie Bennett) the Jamaican language and the performance of identity.
This event will also include the launch of the book ‘Miss Lou and the Jamiekan Langwij: Commemorations and Critical Perspectives’ edited by Michele A. Johnson and will celebrate Jamaica’s 60th year of independence.
