Convocation 2022

On Saturday, June 18, 2022 Glendon graduates were able to experience an in-person convocation ceremony for the first time in two years.

One of our amazing graduates, Naima Sood, shared these words about her experiences in the Communications program and at Glendon College:

“The COMS program has shaped me into a strong, confident and resilient person who is ready to take on the next chapter of my life. The Communications department has been an anchor, supportive and always available. I am motivated by my professors and my learnings to have a career in the field of Communication and Marketing. My dream is to be part of the infotainment industry be it news, food, travel, culture. I am looking forward to applying all the theories learnt in the classroom into the workspace and see the ideas we have discussed through university come to fruition. Graduating from a bilingual degree with a major in Sociology with a minor in Communications and a certificate in law and social thought from Glendon has been a beautiful journey.”

Professor Evan Light joined the proceedings and had this to say about the event:

“It was amazing and emotional to see so many students in-person for the first time in over 2 years, thinking about the intense journeys we’ve been on together in this time, some for the first time ever! With a total of around 400 students attending both graduations (one for those who graduated virtually over the last 2 years, one for those graduating this year), I’d say there were around 2500 people who turned out to support them. It was wonderful to be there with you all and to meet some parents, too, some who traveled from quite far (New Delhi, Yellowknife).”

Congratulations to all the graduates, and best of luck in your future endeavours!
