Reactivating My Academic File

Have you been away, or simply needed to pause your studies for more than a year? You can apply for reactivation of your records! If you wish to return to your studies, apply to reactivate now so you don’t miss the enrolment period. Details on specific scenarios are below:

If you left Glendon in good standing (eligible to continue) and have not taken any courses at another institution while away, you may reactivate your file.

If you have taken courses at another post-secondary institution, you must book a meeting with an Academic Advisor to discuss your options.

If you fail a year and wish to return to Glendon College, you must submit a Reactivation Form to Academic Services after speaking with an Academic Advisor.

The Reactivation Form must be accompanied by the following documents:

  • A personal letter explaining the reasons for failure and stating the reasons why you think that the failure will not be repeated.
  • Any available evidence in support of the statements made in your letter if applicable, e.g., medical certificates, letters from Counselling Services, etc.

Once you have filled out the Reactivation Form and gathered the required documents, you must email Academic Services.

Your file is reviewed individually and critically by a committee that weighs all the evidence presented. Not all requests are granted. If you have weak high school records and a poor academic record at Glendon, you must present strong evidence to convince the committee that you are well suited for academic work.

If you have been debarred and wish to resume your studies at Glendon, you must apply for re-admission through the Office of Admissions, must provide persuasive evidence that you are ready and able to complete a degree program. If you are readmitted, you will be placed on Academic Probation with a limit on the number of credits that you are allowed to enrol in.
