Determining Workplace or Academic Accommodation
Senate Policy stipulates that York University, including the Faculty of Graduate Studies, shall make reasonable and appropriate accommodations and adaptations in order to promote the ability of students with disabilities to fulfill the academic requirements of their programs.
Graduate programs also have responsibilities when considering a work accommodation for a graduate student.
Student Accessibility Services in Student Counselling & Development and Employee Well-Being play a critical role in integrating the external medical information into an accommodation plan within the student’s employment and academic program.
The following procedures outline the roles and responsibilities of Graduate Program Directors in the diagnosis of a workplace or academic accommodation.
