Overview
The Ambassador Gary Smith award is given to excellent Masters or Doctoral students whose area of specialization includes an international focus, preferably relative to Canadian Foreign Policy. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, be Ontario residents*, and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to a Glendon College graduate studying in this area.

Eligibility
- Full-time registered Master’s or doctoral York graduate student
- Must be registered at the time of application
- Must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents and/or protected persons who are residents of Ontario
- Full-time registered York graduate student
- Area of specialization includes an international focus, preferably relative to Canadian Foreign Policy. Preference given to Glendon College students studying in this area.
- Strong academic background
- Confirmation of Financial need

How to Apply
Students must complete the Award Submission Portal with the following information:
- The applicant’s statement section should outline how the student’s research is aligned with the scope of the award; and
- Upload required material(s), merged into one PDF file, 1) an up-to-date CV, and 2) a copy of transcript for the most two recent years of study (an unofficial transcript or records from student account are acceptable).
- Complete Student Financial Profile on the Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships (FAAS) system.
