EUC Graduate Academic Award

Overview

This award results from funds raised by the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change at York University, as part of the Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund (OSOTF) program launched by the Ontario Government. The award was established to support master’s students registered full time in their second year of study.  They must demonstrate financial need and academic merit.

Value and Duration

  • One award of $1,200*
    The value and number of award(s) in any given year will depend on the rate of distribution from the endowment fund, and the number of recipients selected.

Eligibility

  • This award is open to students registered in the second year of their master’s program in the Faculty of Environmental Studies Program in the Faculty of Environmental & Urban Change.
  • Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.
  • Be an Ontario resident.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Be registered full time in the second year of their master’s program in the Faculty of Environmental & Urban Change.
  • Be making normal progress in their program to qualify for the award, and they may not be carrying more than one incomplete grade from the previous term of study.
  • One academic reference to complete the reference assessment form.

How to Apply

  • Step One: Complete the Office of Student and Financial Services' Student Financial Profile (SFP) When you visit the SFP website, please select APPLY NOW to complete your submission.
  • Step Two: Prepare a one-page statement on your focus of study as well as your intention of completing your program.
  • Step Three: Request a faculty member to be a reference. They must submit this Reference Assessment Form to complete your application. Be sure to inform of them of the name of award you are requesting a reference for and its deadline. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
  • Step Four: Complete the application form by November 15.
