Lillian Campbell Memorial Award

Overview

The Lillian Campbell Memorial Award will be granted to a graduate student conducting research on the use and development of assistive technology to benefit the education of those with learning disabilities.

Preference will be given to applicants living with learning disabilities.

A gifted teacher, researcher and academic, Lillian Campbell (PhD ’15) was at the height of her academic career in the Faculty of Health when cancer stole her future. A faculty member at York University, Ms. Campbell passed away after a long and brave battle with a rare, incurable cancer. Throughout her career, Campbell advocated for students diagnosed with learning disabilities; her research focused on supporting their development of academic skills and learning strategies with the use of computer assistive technology.

Eligibility

  • Continuing domestic graduate (masters or doctoral) student conducting research on assistive technology for students with learning disabilities

Note: The student must be registered in Fall and Winter terms of the year the application is submitted.
