Degree Requirements

Academic requirements for our graduate program can be found at Faculty of Graduate Studies—Program Requirements.

The program is structured to develop knowledge and skills in biotechnology and management during the first two semesters, and then extend the student’s knowledge and understanding through work placements, and a capstone experience in their final semester. Work placements are developmental in nature. They are designed for students to gain relevant work experience in the biotechnology sector, and designed for students to solidify their skills and commitment to the biotechnology sector. In some cases, students will continue with the same employer to allow for a deeper dive into the work, and further develop industry relations.

Note: It is important to note that securing an internship within the Master of Biotechnology Management involves the traditional job search, application, and interview process, and that students are not directly placed with employer partners. However, the program offers comprehensive professional development support to equip candidates with the skills and resources needed to navigate the internship search, application, and interview process. Our goal is to ensure that candidates are fully prepared to succeed both in securing opportunities and excelling in their roles.

This is a graduate program consisting of coursework and work placements. We plan to offer a hybrid-learning program, emphasizing program flexibility. Our program would offer face-to-face courses in addition to online learning, allowing for student flexibility and community connections.
