*Due to circumstances beyond the control of the Department, we will be pausing our intake of new graduate students for the Academic Year. This hiatus will allow us to ensure that the strengths of our graduate programs continue and that all our graduate students receive the best experience possible.
Preparing your application to graduate studies at York University and/or other interested universities requires research and planning. Some students start preparing their plans for graduate studies as early as two years before they submit their application. Consider the following information below to help guide you through a successful application process.
- B+ average
- Proof of English language proficiency (if required by York’s Office of Admissions)
- An undergraduate degree in dance or a related field in the fine arts (i.e music), the humanities (i.e history, women’s studies), or the social sciences (i.e anthropology)
Occasionally students are admitted on the basis of extensive professional equivalency. Preference is given to Canadian and landed immigrant applicants. Our international acceptance ratio is under 1%. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
Note for International Applicants: There are currently no funded positions. Should you still wish to apply, you will be considered for a non-funded position during the duration of the program.
