Whether they are caused by natural hazards or intentional actions, disasters defy geographical, social, economic, and cultural boundaries, often wreaking havoc on the communities that they hit. Our graduate programs in Disaster & Emergency Management aim to challenge our students to delve deep into the circumstances that cause such unfortunate, unexpected, or unwanted events, with a goal to explore novel solutions and approaches for dealing with the challenges that lie ahead. We pride ourselves on our research active faculty, our collaborations across disciplines and institutions, and the inviting community of students and practitioners that we offer to our students. We hope to welcome you into York’s expanded DEM family.
