Healthcare

For students with no Employment component in their funding package, Healthcare coverage will be provided via YUGSA. There is a charge associated with this coverage – A healthcare bursary of $1,000/academic year is provided

For students with an Employment component in their funding package, Healthcare Benefit Coverage is included through CUPE 3903 – there is no charge to students

*Employment component of funding is based on CUPE 3903 Unit 1 Collective Agreement:

  • Salary–CUPE 3903 Unit 1 TA position—salary will vary based on assignment type
  • Vacation Pay–Statutory vacation rate applies
  • Grant-in-Aid–CUPE 3903 Unit 1 TA position–Grant-in-Aid funding will vary based on assignment type
  • Graduate Funding Assistance
  • International Tuition Offset (International Students only)
  • UHIP Bursary (International Students only)

Note: Scholarships and York University Fellowship – The university contribution portion of awarded Scholarships will count towards the Fellowship – exception applies when awarded as an ‘Entrance’ scholarship, in the first three terms of study.
