Professor publishes book about culture in West Germany
Michael H. Kater, Distinguished Research Professor Emeritus of history at York University, has published After the Nazis: The Story of Culture in West Germany (Yale University Press, 2023), a history of literature, film, music, theatre and the visual arts in West Germany from 1945 to reunification in 1990.
History professor one of four York faculty named Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC).
History Professor Joshua Fogel is a leading scholar in Asian studies. Fogel’s research focuses on the cultural, political and economic interactions between China and Japan, the importance of Japan in China’s modern development and the changing attitudes both countries have towards one another from the 14th to 19th centuries. Being named to the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) is one of the country’s highest honours in the arts, social sciences and sciences.
