Welcome to the Graduate Programme in Humanities. We encourage study from within interdisciplinary perspectives to reshape debates and raise new questions involving western and non-western humanist traditions in contexts that are both historical and contemporary. Our students and faculty come from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds, providing opportunities of doing specialized academic work in the diverse, cultural expressions of humanities in a departmental culture of friendly collaboration and mutual respect.
Our graduates participate in a wide range of careers, including primary, secondary, and college education, editing and publishing, media industries, and public and civil service. Through its rigorous training in critical thinking, interpretive and documentary methods, and effective writing and speaking, the Humanities Graduate Program cultivates skills essential to almost every profession.
