York’s MPPAL program has been competing annually in the national CAPPA case competition for over a decade. During the fall of 2022, we held a series of training sessions with a very bright and talented group of candidates, hoping to be selected to represent York in the 2023 competition. Students were introduced to the case method, and tasked with developing innovative solutions to challenging public policy problems. The 2023 National Public Administration Case Competition was hosted by Carleton University and held virtually on February 25, 2023. The case centered around modernizing transactions through a Central Bank digital currency. The scenario asked students to provide assessments of the issues and their advice to decision-makers.
