Each year, the Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA) and the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) present the National Annual Public Administration Case Competition. The MPPAL Program has participated for the past several years. The competition uses a case study approach, allowing students to analyze and respond to the public policy challenges of the day. Each team is made up of 4-5 students and a coach. The teams are then provided with a case and are required to provide policy solutions to a panel of prestigious judges chosen by CAPPA and IPAC. The competition has attracted teams from universities all across Canada.
