York psychology professors named top in Canada
Two faculty members from York University are among the top most productive clinical psychology professors in Canada, according to a new paper published in the journal Canadian Psychology, the national publication of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA). In a new paper authored by researchers from the universities of Regina, Ottawa and Queen’s, Matthew Keough and Joel Katz are among the top 15 per cent of men professors from CPA-accredited clinical psychology programs.
Toward Equity and Success for First-Generation Students
As the Faculty of Health’s inaugural Distinguished Fellow in Learning and Teaching Excellence (FLTE), Psychology professor Julie Conder’s focus is on providing for the needs of first-generation students, of which there are many at York University. Phase one is a needs assessment. Phase two will focus on providing resources for first-generation students by employing technology-enhanced learning in the form of online modules or an eLearning Interactive SkillsHub. The ultimate purpose of the modules is to increase equity for this worthy student population.

Kojo Mintah, Ph.D.
Dr. Mintah has presented psychology research at over 15 national and international academic conferences. He has published research in the Journal of Personality and Individual Differences, and Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders.
Exploring intersectionality and youth mental health
Dr. Nazilla Khanlou is the Women’s Health Research Chair in Mental Health in the Faculty of Health at York University and an Associate Professor in its School of Nursing. Professor Khanlou’s clinical background is in psychiatric nursing.
