Global Health (BA, BSc)

Global Health is the study and practice of improving health and achieving health equity on a global scale. 

You will study topics such as chronic disease and care, health promotion, global health policy, and the intersection of health and human rights.

Health Studies (BHS)

Health Studies is the study of healthcare systems, health policy, management, and digital health.  

You will explore topics such as social determinants of health, policy development, management, financial aspects of health services, and health database applications.

Kinesiology and Health Science (BA, BSc)

Kinesiology and Health Science is the study of human movement, the relationship between physical activity and health, and the improvement of physical and behavioural well-being.  

You will study subjects such as anatomy, physiology, exercise science, fitness assessment, and health promotion.

Psychology (BA, BSc)

Psychology is the study of the human mind and behaviour.  

You will explore topics such as neuropsychology, mental health, social psychology, and child and youth development, with optional concentrations to tailor your learning to specific areas of interest.

Nursing (BScN)

Our three Nursing programs fulfill the academic requirements for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).

You will explore topics such as leadership, health ethics and equity, and health assessment.

FAQs

Both the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in the same major (e.g., Psychology) have identical core course requirements. The main difference is that BSc students must take additional courses in math, science, and computer science, while BA students have more flexibility to choose electives in areas like humanities, social sciences, or other disciplines. You can decide which degree will better prepare you for your future academic and professional aspirations.

While we currently do not offer a formal co-op, all our programs provide practical, hands-on experiences. You’ll engage in experiential learning through case studies, simulations, and guest lectures, applying knowledge to real-world challenges while connecting with professors and community partners.

All six programs offer hands-on research with professors, allowing you to contribute to academic research, build a sense of community, and form valuable academic references.

Kinesiology & Health Science offers hands-on labs in anatomy, biomechanics, and fitness assessment, while Nursing and the specialized Honours programs in Global Health and Health Studies include practicum placements.

The Direct Entry Nursing BScN program is a four-year degree designed for applicants without prior university studies. It offers a comprehensive curriculum that covers foundational nursing knowledge and prepares you for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). On the other hand, the 2nd Entry Nursing BScN program is a two-year (6 term) accelerated program for applicants who have already completed at least two years of university studies. Both programs cover similar core topics, such as leadership, health ethics and equity, health assessment, and trends in healthcare.
