Dear faculty, staff, and students,
To initiate the strategic planning process, a small drafting team has been formed, led by Prof. Parissa Safai, which includes members nominated from each of the schools and departments (team listed below). This team has been tasked with collecting and analysing data on contextual issues, trends, gaps, and opportunities in the field, including our strengths, weaknesses, resources and needs. They will also be sending out surveys, conducting interviews and focus groups, and creating an online platform to receive inputs and feedback as they collect and synthesize ideas and draft a landscape analysis and strategic options for consideration.
We will also be creating a Strategic Plan Advisory Board comprised of Deans, Directors, Chairs, and a diverse range of faculty, staff, students, and alumni, as well as other key stakeholders in the University, and external partners with an interest in the Faculty of Health. This group will provide oversight and be deeply involved in reviewing the landscape analyses, visioning on divergent possibilities for the Strategic Plan, participating on how to converge ideas and priorities, and reviewing drafts of the Strategic Plan.
Once these activities are complete, drafts of the strategic plan will be reviewed and endorsed by our Faculty Council as a final step towards its implementation.
During the next year, at each step along the way over the course of the year, there will be opportunities for faculty, staff, students, and partners to provide inputs and feedback. Furthermore, along the way, you will receive periodic updates, and requests and reminders to participate.
Please get involved and help shape our future. For more information on the strategic planning exercise, please visit the Faculty of Health Strategic Planning page.
I am looking forward to getting to know more about you and the Faculty, and to charting our future together.
