
About the Certificate
The cross-disciplinary certificate in Digital Health immerses you in health information management, where you will develop and manage systems to enhance client care and explore societal implications, applications, and emerging issues in digital health and health informatics. Students will learn to design and use databases, analyze user requirements, use Electronic Health Records, manage information systems, and practice evidence-based decision-making.
Program Overview:
The Digital Health certificate can be completed concurrently with a York undergraduate program or as a stand-alone certificate for university or college graduates.
The certificate is primarily offered in-person, with some courses available in online or blended formats. Depending on your course load, it can be completed within one to two years.

Curriculum Details (30 total credits)
Students pursuing the certificate concurrently must complete 18 unique credits for the certificate outside of their degree requirements.
Admissions and Eligibility
Digital Health Certificate is open for Fall (September) and Winter (January) intakes.
Current York University Students
Current undergraduate students can apply to complete the certificate concurrently with their degree through the School of Health Policy and Management. To apply, simply submit the Application for Entry to a Certificate Program form to shpm@yorku.ca. Note that the certificate cannot be awarded retroactively.
New Applicants to York University
The Digital Health certificate is open to:
- Applicants who have completed an accredited college diploma with an overall average of at least a B OR
- Applicants who have completed a degree at an accredited university with an overall average of at least a C
Please note that meeting the minimum admission requirements is not a guarantee of admission. Applicants cannot complete Digital Health as a stand-alone certificate if they are currently enrolled in any undergraduate or graduate degree at York, but can complete it as a concurrent certificate. Studying in the Digital Health certificate is not a pathway to a degree program at York.

Tuition Fees
Tuition fees are dependent on your immigration status and your residency. Tuition fees are charged by course but paid by semester.
