The Faculty of Health offers a diverse range of graduate programs designed to prepare students for leadership, research, and professional roles in health, fitness, and related fields.
The MA and PhD programs in Health offer an interdisciplinary, research-based environment that examines the effects of health systems, services, issues, laws, policies, practices, norms, organizations, and decision-making on health outcomes.
The MA and PhD in Health has two fields of specialization:

Critical Disability Studies (MA, PhD)
The trans-disciplinary and interdisciplinary MA and PhD programs in Critical Disability Studies draw from various fields, including but not limited to law, anthropology, health studies, and political science, with a focus on social justice and community empowerment.
The MA program is available in full-time and part-time basis, while the PhD is offered full-time only.

In the Global Health PhD program, you will examine global health issues in relation to intersecting challenges of wealth disparity, environmental degradation, government policy and human rights.
Following an independent four-year plan, students can choose “their own adventure”, collaborate with local and international partners, and pursue diverse dissertation options through cotutelle models.

Kinesiology and Health Science (MA, MSc, PhD)
The graduate programs in Kinesiology and Health Science offer opportunities for advanced (MA/MSc) and specialized (PhD) research under faculty supervision in areas such as psychology, health and fitness, epidemiology, biomechanics, neuroscience, physiology, nutrition, and immunology.

Master of Fitness Science (MFSc non-thesis)
The MFSc is a full-time, 16-month, non-thesis program that combines coursework with extensive practical experience. It prepares students for careers in health promotion, sport, occupational fitness applications and exercise management for persons with chronic disease and disabilities.
Open to graduates in physical activity or exercise science. Completing the MFSc qualifies students for designations like the Health and Fitness Federation of Canada’s Certified Exercise Physiologist™ and allows them to apply for Ontario College of Kinesiology registration.

The MA and PhD program in psychology offers seven areas of specialization with extensive opportunities for interdisciplinary study. Our faculty members have many collaborative research partnerships with organizations ranging from local hospitals to NASA, and our clinical programs have extensive connections with practicum sites.
Our Clinical Psychology stream, Clinical–Developmental Psychology stream, and the specialized Clinical Neuropsychology Stream have been accredited by the Canadian Psychological Association.

Master of Science in Nursing (MScN)
The MScN program meets the growing demand for healthcare practitioners who respect patients’ values and choices. Focused on human caring, it acknowledges that each patient has a personal story, moving beyond conventional nursing curricula.
Offered full-time and part-time, with thesis or course-based options, the program provides flexibility to align with your professional goals.

Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner (PHCNP)
The PHCNP program prepares advance nurse practitioners with expertise in health promotion, empowerment, community partnerships, human science nursing, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Offered in full–time (6 consecutive semesters) basis and part-time load. Graduates are eligible to write the Canadian Nurse Practitioner Exam Examination: Family/All Ages to qualify as an NP–PHC.

The PhD program in Nursing prepares nurse scholars who can conduct independent research and assume leadership in settings including academia, research centres, healthcare settings, and government. The program emphasizes developing knowledge that informs the promotion and positive transformation of health across the lifespan at the individual, group, community, and global level.
