I am a first year PhD student in the Clinical Developmental Psychology program. In 2022, I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at York University in the Specialized Honours program, where I conducted my honours thesis under the supervision of Dr. Adrienne Perry. We compared differences in family experiences of raising a child with autism between immigrant and Canadian-born parents.
My current research interests continue to be understanding family experiences. More specifically, I am interested in learning more about stress and coping as predictors of parental well-being. I am also interested in considering the role of gender and cultural factors in influencing stress outcomes and strengthening resilience in families. For my MA thesis, I explored how mothers’ and fathers’ experiences of raising a child with autism differed.
In my spare time, I love to play video games! When I was a child, the primary motivator for learning how to read was to understand how to play games.
