Child and Youth Development

The goal of this Concentration is to provide students with foundational knowledge in child and youth developmental psychology. Students will gain in-depth knowledge in experimental developmental psychology; in the biological, social, cognitive, and behavioural basis of development; and developmental conditions and treatment approaches. At completion of this Concentration, students will have foundational knowledge of developmental psychology and knowledge of how it is applied in the context of family, school, cultural, and societal influences, as well as clinical applications. This Concentration is intended to provide students with tools, skills and knowledge that will help to prepare them for child- and youth-related careers and graduate studies including those in research and education.
