Undergraduate Certificates & Graduate Diplomas

Explore our stand-alone Digital Health certificate and a variety of for-credit concurrent certificates that can be completed in conjunction with your undergraduate studies at York University, depending on your major. These certificates can be an opportunity to further tailor your degree.

The cross-disciplinary certificate in Digital Health immerses you in health information management, where you will develop and manage systems that enhance client care. You’ll explore societal implications, applications, and emerging issues in health informatics. 

Open for Fall and Winter intakes, the certificate can be completed concurrently with a York undergraduate program or consecutively/independently if you hold a university degree or College Diploma.

The Fitness Assessment and Exercise Counselling certificate can be earned concurrently with the honours degree in Kinesiology & Health Science. Upon completion, students can pursue national or international accreditation as a Fitness or Personal Trainer and Exercise Physiologist Specialist through the Health and Fitness Federation of Canada, focusing on health- and performance-related physical fitness across the lifespan.

The Athletic Therapy certificate, accredited by the Canadian Athletic Therapists’ Association (CATA), prepares you to become a Certified Athletic Therapist in Canada, working with athletes and the active population. It is available to Kinesiology & Health Science Honours students at York University and is to be earned concurrently with the undergraduate degree.

The Certificate in Psychological Methods and Data Analysis is available to be earned concurrently by undergraduate students in Psychology (Health/Glendon) or other programs within the Faculty of Health. It provides advanced skills in psychological methods and data analysis.

The Counselling and Mental Health Certificate can be completed concurrently with the Honours BA or Honours BSc in Psychology in the Faculty of Health.

The Cross-Disciplinary Certificate in Aging can be earned concurrently by undergraduate students in the Faculty of Health. It combines courses from various disciplines, including Kinesiology & Health Science, Psychology, and Sociology.

The York-Seneca Rehabilitation Services Certificate program offers a joint BA/BSc degree from York University and a certificate from Seneca Polytechnic, including 800 hours of supervised fieldwork. Recognized by the Vocational Rehabilitation Association (VRA) and the College of Rehabilitation Professionals (CVRP), the program prepares students to pursue the Registered Rehabilitation Professional (RRP) designation.

Enhance your expertise with a for-credit graduate diploma alongside your master’s or doctoral degree.

The Health Psychology graduate diploma covers a wide range of topics across the human lifespan, including cancer care, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, eating disorders, HIV/AIDS, pain, SARS, and stress and coping. Designed to enhance research competency, it is available to graduate students in Psychology or Kinesiology & Health Science.

The Neuroscience Graduate Diploma provides research opportunities in areas ranging from molecular and cellular neuroscience to organismal behavior. Students are supervised by faculty from multiple departments engaged in neuroscience research, including Psychology, Kinesiology & Health Science, Philosophy, Physics, EECS, and Biology, with opportunities for local and international collaborations with hospitals and universities.

The Quantitative Methods Graduate Diploma enhances students’ skills in applying and communicating advanced quantitative methods to psychological and social science data. Designed to complement graduate studies in psychology or related fields, the program also offers an optional research practicum focused on quantitative methods.
