About Us

The Health, Safety & Employee Well-Being (HSEWB) unit at York University promotes a holistic approach to creating a safe and healthy workplace and an organizational culture that promotes prevention, early intervention, support, and overall well-being.

The HSEWB unit provides a broad range of services to the University community. Contact us for support with:

  • Occupational Health & Safety
  • Disability Support, including the management of WSIB claims, short-term absences, transition to long-term disability, return to work, family status accommodations, and medical accommodations
  • Employee & Family Assistance Program (EFAP)
  • Wellness promotion
  • York University’s Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management System
  • Joint Health & Safety Committees (JHSCs) and Area Health & Safety Officers (HSOs)
