York professor publishes comprehensive book on work and law in Canada

 

Professor David Doorey, Director of the School of Human Resource Management,The Law of Work book cover has published a new book entitled The Law of Work: The Complete Edition.

This is the first text to offer a comprehensive and current overview of all aspects of work law in Canada for a non-law audience. 

This volume explores all three work law regimes—common law, regulation, and collective bargaining—in a user-friendly manner. Complex legal issues and policy debates are presented using accessible language, and highlight boxes clearly distinguish and examine key court decisions. The book has been adopted for courses in employment law, labour law, and industrial relations in universities across the country.
