New Incentive Award motivates students to apply for graduate school scholarships

York University’s Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies (LA&PS) has launched the Undergraduate Incentive Award to encourage students to apply to external scholarships for graduate school.

Every York University undergraduate student will be granted the $1,000 award if they meet the following criteria: accept and enrol in a graduate program in LA&PS and apply for a scholarship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) or the Ontario Graduate Scholarships (OGS) fund.

LA&PS invites fourth-year students to improve their chances of success by attending the Faculty of Graduate Studies workshop Writing Winning Proposals for Master’s Scholarship Applicants on Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. in Room 802, South Ross Building. Register for the workshop online.

Winners of the LA&PS Incentive Award will receive the grant in their student account once they are registered in an LA&PS graduate program.
