LA&PS offers free events focused on student well-being

Prioritizing self-care is an important part of staying well – especially as we move into the second leg of the semester. Although being busy is normal for many students during this time of the year, it shouldn’t deter you from finding moments to de-stress and enjoy a much-deserved mental break.

This month, the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS) is hosting its first-ever stress-buster event series: #YUGood? LA&PS Stress-buster Fest. From October 18-20, we’ll offer a range of interactive events and activities in the Scott Library Atrium that encourages students to take a break and re-charge. Students will also have an opportunity to engage with peer mentors and tutors from across LA&PS who will aid them with achieving their goals by providing academic and wellness support.

#YUGood? LA&PS Stress-buster Fest is for all York University students — we all have mental health and while it might look different to each person, we all benefit from maintaining and fostering a healthy headspace.

For a full list of activities and events, visit the #YUGood? LA&PS Stress-buster Fest event listing.

At this event, you’ll gain academic and wellness tips from the LA&PS Peer Mentor Network. We’re also offering drop-in tutoring from peers in our SNACK (Student Numeracy Assistance Centre) and PASS (Peer-Assisted Study Sessions) programs.

We’ll end the event with a tranquil mindfulness walk hosted by the Peer Mentor Network that explores the beauty of Keele campus during autumn.
