LA&PS Upper year and Graduate students can meet alum, explore career paths at Connections: Student & Alumni Mixers

A series designed to bring York LA&PS students and alum together for networking and career conversations returns this fall for the seventh consecutive year, with the first in-person event scheduled for Sept. 25 at Vanier College.

Launched by the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS) Development team, and now in partnership with LA&PS Colleges, the Connections: Student & Alumni Mixers series presents five in-person events that put students and alum together for an evening of conversation. These mixers are a perfect opportunity for the students to network with alumni from their program, to ask questions, make connections and learn more about how to use their degrees and about potential career paths.

Past events have welcomed presidents, CEOs, directors and entrepreneurs. Each brought a breadth of experience and knowledge from the field as well as a desire to really connect with the students and offer support.

“I wish there were more events like this.”, said graduate student, Daria Maltseva, “Chatting with a variety of alumni, from recent grads to experts is a great way of having a lot of different questions answered not only about the hiring process but also about career paths and industries.”
