York University honorary governor Helen Vari is among a group of 10 individuals with connections to the university and who have been appointed to the Order of Canada, Canada’s highest civilian honour. Vari Hall, home to departments in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, is named after Vari and her late husband, George. Alumnus Joseph Boyden (BA ’91) is also one of the appointees.
