Sexuality Studies

Degree Overview: Four Years

In our Sexuality Studies program, you will examine the artistic, cultural, economic, geographic, historical, literary, political, psychological and social aspects of sexuality in a transnational context.

The program explores intersectionality, an approach that focuses on existent and emergent intersections of sexuality with ability, age, class, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, health, nationality, race, religion and sexual identity.

Year 1

Your first year will introduce you to the university environment, provide you with your mandatory core course in SXST, offer you general education course choices, and expose you to the general topics of the Program.

Year 2

In your second year, you will deepen your critical engagement with key topics in the field of SXST Studies through core SXST and non-core GWST (cross-listed to SXST) courses.

Program Options

Students may pursue a BA major; Honours Major BA, Honours Major/Minor BA, Honours Double Major BA, Specialized Honours BA, Honours Minor BA, a number of International BA majors or minors, or a Cross-Disciplinary Certificate in Sexuality Studies in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies.
