This project has supported me in achieving my life and career goals by allowing me to develop my research skills and understand the importance of traditional and non-traditional forms of research dissemination.

Project Description:

This project involved supporting the planning and facilitation of the Children, Youth and Performance Conference in downtown Toronto this summer. My role included academic event planning, research activities, non-traditional forms of knowledge translation and scholarly contributions in the form of written and editorial work. I researched logistical needs for the conference and completed administrative tasks such as note-taking, data entry, facilitating, moderating, setting up, and taking down conference sessions. As part of this project, I assisted presenters and community partners across a wide range of disciplines to support their needs before and during the conference. One key aspect of this project was providing comprehensive support to conference presenters. This included assisting them in delivering workshops, performance excerpts, and case studies, ensuring they felt reassured and prepared for their sessions. I achieved this through consistent communication, responding to emails promptly, and being present during the conference to answer questions, deliver materials, and set up the room according to their needs.
