Project Description:
My research project focuses on Infectious Waste Management in the Age of Epidemics and a Pandemic, exploring the causes of these major public health emergencies and their impacts on Urban Africa. Through this project I have been evaluating survey data taken from health clinics in Accra, Ghana and disaggregating the responses into charts for visual interpretation. Additionally I have been sifting through the available literature regarding healthcare waste and its management in the global South with the ultimate goal of producing two literature reviews with my supervisor. The Dean’s Award for Research Excellence (DARE) – Undergraduate enables our students to meaningfully engage in research projects supervised by LA&PS faculty members.
