German Studies
The professors in the German Studies program are the pinnacle of what all professors should aspire to be. They're approachable and they create a positive environment that is highly conducive to learning. Through the interactions I've had with them, I have grown as a student and a person, which is an invaluable experience that every student should have in university. The myriad of opportunities available for students at York is astounding. In my case, being able to study abroad has helped me tremendously in both my growth as a student and as a person. The first time going abroad was a frightening experience for me, as growing up in a Latino household in El Salvador, I was hardly ever separated from my family. Being able to survive on my own was a true test of my will and the experiences I've had at York has shaped me into the person that I am today.
