York University was my home for many years. I grew up in the hallways, courtyards & lecture halls of the institution. I came to York a few months after immigrating to Canada from Saudi Arabia. A very different world from the one I had known, but very close to the kind of world I had wished for and dreamed of. I found friends, reignited my curiosity and saw the possibility of a life I had not imagined. Most of all, I found myself through the many experiences I had in the safety and the firm demands of my academic life.
