Tell prospective students a bit about the work you do?
I was employed by the Canadian Army as a logistics officer. As a logistics officer I helped plan and organize military activities. Through my broad cultural understanding and circumnavigation of the globe, I am able to converse in several languages, including English, French, Urdu and Punjabi. At NATO, I have been very influential from a policy perspective on the issue of Kashmir, with this work aiding in parliamentary policy debates. I have also stirred debate on the legitimacy of Islamic Terror organizations, through my work on Jihad, which justifies the War on Terror according to Islamic principles. In the procurement area, I have mentioned numerous innovative ideas that few would conceptualize for NATO (such as a re-imagined Avro Arrow and MagnetoHydrodynamic driven electricity generators) along with their associated best practices for integration into existing NATO and NATO national systems.
Tell prospective students a bit about how your studies at York helped you to get where you are today.
Given that my passions are history, politics, public policy and reading, naturally the areas of Procurement, Counter-Terrorism, Military strategy, Foreign Affairs and Arctic sovereignty, are my subjects of interest. These were bolstered through my undergraduate degree in Public Administration. I also completed several courses in emergency management alongside my degree, which shape my world view along with experiences to produce top notch reports for NATO and NATO Member governments.
