Tell prospective students a bit about the work you do?

I work within the Driver Programs Office at the Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) as a Policy and Programs Assistant. In my current position I assist in the development of new road user safety policies and procedures, awareness and training materials, I recommend changes to existing programs and procedures to senior policy staff and management, as well as administer, monitor and evaluate road user safety programs and sub-programs to ensure that they are delivered in a uniform, effective and efficient manner.

Tell prospective students a bit about how your studies at York helped you to get where you are today.

The Bachelor Public Administration (BPA) program built the foundations of the knowledge and skills I have today. Some take-aways include presentation skills, knowledge of government processes, policy development and evaluation, writing skills, and so much more. The program through its professors taught me how to network, build and maintain professional relationships, and the value of retaining these relationships in a professional setting.
