Dana Bota leads the Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada’s Governance and Compliance team and manages operational efficiency projects in partnership with the Risk management group. In her role, Dana uses an integrated compliance model to optimize the execution of risk management activities within the company. Previous to joining Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada, Dana’s professional experience included positions in operations, credit and project management within the Asset lending industry including one of Canada’s big five banks.
Prior to joining York University, Dana started her educational journey with the Faculty of European Studies within the Babeș-Bolyai University, one of the oldest, most prestigious, and largest universities in Romania. Dana is an alumna of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies since 2005 where she completed her BA and a certification in Human Resources Management.
With an avid learner profile, Dana continued to expand her knowledge by completing courses with the Credit Institute of Canada, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification with Mohawk College and the Osgoode Certification in Regulatory Compliance and Legal Risk Management for Financial institutions offered by Osgoode Hall Law School of York University.
Dana is part of the Empowering Women Leaders Committee as part of the Canadian Finance & Leasing Association whose mission is to provide a forum for women to advance their professional skills and leadership potential in the asset finance community through partnership, discussion, networking, and initiatives.
