Derek is a Senior Director of Product Management at Workday. Workday is a leading provider of enterprise cloud applications for finance, HR, and planning, and delivers financial management, human capital management, and analytics applications for the world’s largest companies, educational institutions, and government agencies.

Derek is a passionate product leader who combines a deep technical background with strong product strategy, vision, and an ability to lead large multi-national teams. Since joining Workday in 2015, Derek has launched three very successful products for Workday. He currently leads the product management team responsible for Workday’s HR Service Delivery offering called Workday Help currently used by over 3 million users across a broad range of customer verticals. His team now spans 5 cities in 4 different countries.

Among Derek’s strengths is his ability to understand any market and the opportunities therein, and then lead and motivate high performance teams to get the product built. He does this by managing complex cross-team initiatives and strategic programs to keep teams focused on the right priorities, helping them be more productive and making it possible to achieve their goals. He believes that strong empowered product teams working autonomously with end users on the right opportunities, are the teams that build the best products every time!
