Sociology at York has provided me with the opportunity to develop transferable skills which I use on a daily basis in my chosen career path. In my current role as a Compliance Analyst, I am required to analyze variables in the company's business that may pose as a potential risk. The courses I took as an undergraduate student helped me understand laws, regulations and topics such as "consumer's protection" or "corporate social responsibility". The theories behind these concepts have allowed me to look for inconsistencies, analyze various data, and implement policies to mitigate any risk the company can face.
