Professional Writing
The best part about the Professional Writing program is the professors. I have never met a more dedicated, passionate group of people and they are determined to teach students how to become better writers. They always find a way to break down the theories and information you need to know, and help you apply it to your writing style. They never discourage you with their criticism, but they never coddle you either. There is a respect between the professors and the students that I really appreciate.
When I came into York, I wanted to get better at writing and come out of my shell. Although I was a good writer, I was quiet and it reflected in my work; I was afraid to stray too far from the norm. Through my mandatory courses and electives, I have been able to create a voice for myself which reflects in my writing and how I approach daily life.
