Responsible for setting the strategic direction of the service. This includes leading a team of dedicated professionals focused on providing the highest quality medical care and outreach to patients and the community. Responsible for effective financial management of services and programs and ensuring the service is compliant with the Ontario Ambulance Act and the Ministry of Health legislated patient care standards. Focused on implementing innovative alternative care pathways for those that call 911 as well as ensuring that staff have access to the appropriate preventative and therapeutic interventions to support their mental health and wellness.
The MPPAL degree stretched my thinking and challenged biases that I had prior to enrollment. All studies were directly relevant to my work as a member of the Senior Leadership Team of my organization. The courses on Program Evaluation, Social Equity, and Administrative Law were particularly helpful as I applied many things learned from those courses to my work almost immediately. Our organization strives to ensure we apply a Health Equity lens to the services we provide, and the MPPAL program has been instrumental in my contribution to this strategic goal.
