Mark Lam
Partner, Head of Quality Monitoring, BDO Canada
Mark is a Partner at BDO Canada with over 20 years of experience in various assurance and accounting issues impacting both public and private enterprises. As the Head of Monitoring and Remediation, he oversees the Quality Assurance Review program for all business lines and provides practice leadership to promote firm quality.
In his previous role as Director of Technical Assurance and Accounting Training, Mark's primary responsibilities were to oversee firm training initiatives and provide technical guidance on complex assurance matters. He was also responsible for writing publications, interpreting new and upcoming standards, and responding to consultations on complex financial reporting issues.
Mark is passionate about learning and development and has taken on various teaching positions at University of Toronto and York University at both undergraduate and graduate levels. In the past, he has been a marker at the School of Accountancy, a provincial reviewer of the Uniformed Final Evaluation, and an author of CPA exams.
