Tell prospective students a bit about the work you do.
I am currently a 1L student at Osgoode Hall Law School pursuing my passion in the intersection of business and the law. I work with the Community & Legal Aid Services Program (CLASP) at Osgoode in assisting with pro bono clinical work. I also work with Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) where we provide support, mentorship, and guidance to high school students who might otherwise not have the access or exposure to pursuing a career in law. Outside of law school, I am currently a member of an Equity Task Force for a handful of national non-profit organizations working to ensure more effective diversity and inclusion practices and policies. As much as my interests lie in corporate law, I strive to ensure that the ethnic demographic of the legal landscape better, and more disproportionately, reflects general society; this, amongst other passions, is why I derive a great deal of joy volunteering my time to support amazing causes.

As a law student, most of my courses are based on deconstructing and developing an understanding of court decisions. One unifying tangent that conspicuously ties all my courses together is the element of policy considerations that weigh heavily on judicial decisions. I have come to recognize the immense importance of intervenors, activist groups, and lobbyists with regard to their role in shaping the law. These are all elements that are given significant attention and thoroughly discussed in the courses I took at the School of Public Policy and Administration (SPPA).
Furthermore, I took many courses with great professors who shed light on how to understand the law. One professor that stands out to me is Professor O'Rourke DiCarlo. I took his 'Public Law I' (AP/PPAS 3135 3.0) and 'Politics, Law and the Courts' (AP/PPAS 4130 6.0) courses from which I gained a considerable amount of insight into the law. These courses alone have truly equipped me with a head start in law school, especially with courses such as Public and Constitutional Law. In sum, my success in getting into law school was greatly shaped by the courses and professors I engaged with at the School of Public Policy and Administration, for which I am very grateful.
