A graduate of York University, Ben completed his undergraduate degree in History; a Masters in Disaster and Emergency Management and completed a Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology April 2019. His time at YorkU lead to an opportunity at Hydro One Brampton which propelled him into the electricity industry.
Ben is a Supervisor in the Grid Operations department at Toronto Hydro which oversees the 24/7 monitoring and control of the City’s electricity grid. Previously, he held the position of Business Continuity Management Consultant where he created and implemented Toronto Hydro’s Disaster Preparedness Program and strategy. Through his accomplishments in Emergency Management, he was appointed inaugural co-chair of a national working group tasked with coordinating electricity industry crews across all Canadian provinces.
In partnership with YorkU, Ben has co-authored three scholarly articles, presented at numerous conferences and served on the Program Advisory Committee for Emergency Management at Sheridan College.
